Reddit management reversed a recent request to change the API access policy and removed archived chats. The transition decision took effect on June 30, but many users saw the disappearance of the archives only a few days later. It seems that many users were oblivious to the announcement made in June that platform was moving onto a new chat system and that deleting old messages would ensure a smooth and quick transition. In addition, messages can be accessed until 2023 using the old version of Reddit. For this reason, you should ask to make a reservation at this address when you log into Reddit. The administrator also reported that they’ve got the chance to access their old chats. Upon complaints from one of the forum members, Reddit administrator explained that the company is porting legacy chats to new platforms and unfortunately, only 2023 data is copied. In the last few weeks, many Reddit users have begun to report disappearance of their old personal correspondence over the years, Mashable writes.
